About Grey Matter
The Grey Matter, hailing from Charlottesville, Virginia, could be best described as a refreshingly-authentic rock quintet. Vocally diverse, slide-guitarist Liam Gilchrist's gritty vocals mix uniquely with lead guitarist Sid Brigg's alternative voice. In turn, the two's guitar mix ranges from thick, bluesy riffs to classic-rock wails, providing a broad spectrum of old- and new-school styles. Integrated with the funk-laced bass playing of Travis Marshall and the unique keyboard style of Nick Mann, The Grey Matter comes full circle with the progressive rhythms of Mark Wilkinson. Together, they bring audiences what they want to hear: an unprecedented culmination of rock, blues, and funk that harkens back to the experimental days of rock and roll.
